CGiii Comment

From the opening note of the opening song - a song that is played to its horrific end - followed almost immediately by another vicious assault to the ears...the urge to switch off just after it starts is overwhelming.

Mission life is very routine...and, so is this overly didactic film.

Obviously, comparisons have to be made with Latter Days...when making a film about the same subject, check out the competition with the sole intention of improvement. No such luck here.

Wouldn't it be more interesting to see Mormons defend their laughable faith rather than see them crumble under scrutiny...? Joseph Smith, the founding father, was an alleged paedophile and polygamist (evidence suggests he had around 30 extra wives - what a man!) - an argument that is presented and immediately abandoned.

The pissing, kissing, sucking and praying scene will have you in stitches. They are bad Mormons.

The scenes with the dope-smoking ex-veteran are...ludicrous. They truly are bad Mormons.

The Falls falls short on every level...the direction is flat, the script is juvenile, the sound is awful, the acting is lifeless (the ear-pierced Mormon father should never act again and Ferrucci's future dramatic career doesn't look too rosy)...and all those howlingly bad songs!!!

The superlative gay Mormon film has, still, yet to be made.
